End of 2008

Tomorrow is the end of this year, usually on moment like this, people will be wrapped up in Holiday spirit, Glowing and happy , full of joys and plan for tomorrow night.
But .... not me....Actually I've plan for tomorrow night, "Families gathering : Sang Wo Dinner" at my aunt house.
My mum is so lucky to have such tight bond brothers and sisters, we always have gathering like this, some time with no reason at all, just to gather, make noises oh... so crowded, changing gossips.
Any way, back to topic. this year, I'm not smitten by any holiday spirit or feeling any joys instead I feel so gloom, tired, burn out.
For me, Me , this year is not 'as planned ahead' year. Everything is so under count. Well ,my architecture and furniture manufacturing business is not bad, also Elling Bra ones, but I just wish I could do more. Of course impossible with a naughty baby (ehmmm toddler already) and without any baby sitter help.
My time to do my work is so limited, just a few hours here and there... Not to mention have to finished my design until midnight that mean sacrificed my sleeping time. And when Megan is sick, like catching bad cough these days meaning just fitful sleep for me.
I'm not complaining before, because I have already braced myself the consequences of being part time mum, but these days I can't help myself for feeling so burnout, so tired, I just want to complain ... complain...and complaining...
Every morning, I felt sore on my spine and my shoulder (Oh, I'm sleeping on Lady American mattress and doing yoga 3 times a week) but seem won't help.
I just wish I can have a couple days off so I can recharge myself ... but it's impossible, who'll take care Megan? How about my clients? Who will supervised the worker?
Well, I don't have any solution for myself, I'm so stuck out. But, everything I did, and my scarified surely lately will be well pay off... I wish...

Kindy Concert

I forgot to post these. Taken a week ago. Megan's playgroup held kid's concert on 13 Dec. It's fun to see all the playgroup children performed on stage.
The show's successful enough. Many parent come to watched their children which all of them were dressed in cute costumes.

Some of the children were fright of stage and cried, some just froze on spot, but some were natural, they performed according to teacher instruction below the stage.

There's one particular boy who caught my attention. He cried when his group're queuing up to the stage and when they get down but when the show began , he performed well. Funny, isn't he?

Nah, the little boy in red T shirt is Megan's class mate. Actually, he's no part of the show, but because he sat near the performers and his shirt is similar color with the boy performer, the teacher mistaken him. But he performed well, better then the others kids on the stage. What a brave boy and his parent must be so proud of him.

What I dislike is the way the headmistress behave. She forbid parents to take picture of the show (but all ignore her, of course)and then she said "if parents can't heed order, how to expect your children to listen to you?" It's rude, right?
Every parents must be proud of their children and want to record their children special moment, right? Why not allowed them leh?

Sick

Megan is down with fever (39') and cough. Poor baby, she's sleepless and feeling cranky all the time, She also throw up this morning.
Already feed her antibiotic because her fever's up and down, and she feel a bit better, but still want to be bau bau all the time.
I'm so tired, lack of sleep because keep waking up checking her temperature last night. Thank God it's down a bit.

Banana bread

I tried to bake banana bread today, and turned out successful.
The bread is so moist and delicious.... I just added additional half cup of raisin in it.
My next mission maybe baking cakes and cookies.
Ow... maybe I have cooking genes in me? Hehehe I dunno. Maybe I just caught on the festive bugs, you know Christmas is nearby and so is Chinese new year, I just want to make it special for my family, specially after all 'stuff' that had happened.
Well way to go next mission.......

Pancake, second tried out

I baked pancake again on Monday morning for kids breakfast. But I prepared the batter on previous night. From the tips of the website, it said, the result will be fluffier if the batter left in refrigerator for few hours even overnight.
The pancake turn out great, this time I omitted the salt and add mashed 2 ripe banana onto the wet ingredient. the result were great. Children like them, and adults too...
Sifted and whisked all the dry ingredient evenly before adding the wet ones.

Batter ready to be fried after staying while night in fridge.

Pancake, Ready!!!

I was Baking!!

Yeah, I baked pancake for my Megan and Richard this morning, This was my first try-out and it turned out .... edible.... but not too nice.
I baked it according to the recipe I downloaded from www.allrecipes.com but I thought the baking soda's too much. I'll try again tomorrow and reduce the amount of baking soda.
Hopefully this time, I don't forget to snap some pictures.

Megan and Richard

I don't understand, why my little Megan like to hit or slap and even pinch her cousin, Richard? Because of jealousy? Richard, as gentleman as he's never hit back, just said " mei mei, bu yau da ke ke"... aiyooo give me headache
Yesterday, she pinched him under his eye hard and left red stain, still Richard will look lovingly at her and call mei-mei.....
If we asked Richard who're the prettiest among his cousin, he'll undoubtedly replied : 'mei mei'
The problem is, Megan doesn't appreciate his passionate and keep bullying him, what must I do??????javascript:void(0)

Megan and school

After almost 1 month , well, I can said, I'm not very satisfied with this class. The teacher seem not experience enough to handle all busy body children and they still rarely paying any attention to her.
Until now, we, the parents and baby sitter still join the class, accompanying our children. This was not the head master promised me : just two week of adjustment time then ,kids attend the class by themselves.
When I asked , they reasoned: well the Christmas holiday's nearby so, no need to force the children to adapt with teacher and classroom because they'll need to re-adjust again when school start on new term next year.
Hello..frankly, this's not I expected to hear from a professional school, right? Well, I think I better searched for new one, don't you think so?

Go to school!!!

Phew..finally Megan go to school. She's just 16 month, the youngest in her class and barely talk yet but I put her to school anyway. Crazy mummy, isn't it?
The very reason is because she's very shy when met another people, in the crowd example, at a wedding, she'd refused to walk and insisted to be pau pau all time. she won't smile and just put on her sour face. And mostly, in the morning, she spend her time with my maid, so no intellectual improvement at all.
And Oh I'm so jealous when compared her to her cousin, SF. He's so... smart. He can arranged puzzle pieces on 18 months, and sorting block on 15 month.
Pengsan..Megan only like to throw or make noises all of block and puzzles I bought for her, let alone arranging them..hmmm. So, I thought, well someone need some good discipline and education here and since SF although very smart but clinging like glue to his mummy and he's 27 months, he too need some socialize with others.
Then my sister found this kindergarten. Just 15 minutes drive from house and they offer 50% off for this is additional class not usual one which always started on January and July, so I thought, why not, I'll just pull Megan out if she can't adapt well.
Yesterday morning was a chaos. 6 toddler, cried or refused to separate from their mummy, mine also. But after the teacher started singing and dancing, they seem relaxed a bit.

They study in playroom for a few days (parents or nannies included) to help them adapt with the school. They sang, play and dance and learn names of animal from pictures.

This morning was more chaos, why? because the children were more adapting with their teacher and playroom now, they barely listen to teacher instruction but played and grabbed all toys that they desired. Oh there is 2 new member in the class, 1 couple of twins boy.
Megan, who sit properly on my lap yesterday and be apple in her teacher eyes, ran around and played, refused to sit at all.
Curious, how teacher will handle them all tomorrow, eh?...
